Nollywood actress Adunni Ade is mourning the death of her mother, who passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026, following a prolonged illness.
The actress announced the loss on Monday through an emotional tribute shared on her Instagram page, accompanied by photographs of her late mother.
In her message, Ade expressed her grief and reflected on the loss while accepting what she described as the will of Almighty Allah. She also offered prayers for her mother’s soul and asked for strength to cope with the difficult period.
“With a heavy heart and submission to the will of Almighty Allah, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, who returned to her Creator after a long battle with illness,” the actress wrote.
Ade prayed for Allah’s forgiveness and mercy upon her late mother, asking that she be granted eternal peace in Al-Jannah Firdaus.
She also prayed for patience and strength for the family as they come to terms with the loss.
The actress disclosed that her mother is survived by her children, grandchildren, sisters and other loved ones who will continue to cherish her memory.
In a touching farewell, Ade reaffirmed her love for her mother and expressed hope of reuniting with her in the hereafter.
“Mum, I love you. May Allah grant you eternal peace and reunite us in Jannah. Ameen,” she wrote.
The actress added that details of the funeral arrangements would be communicated at a later date.
Ade had previously spoken publicly about her mother’s health challenges. In October 2019, she shared photographs of her mother receiving medical care and described her as a fighter, expressing hope for her recovery.
