India’s Jio Platforms has attracted more than $77 billion in investor bids for its initial public offering (IPO), making it the country’s most heavily subscribed share sale, according to Dikkasmedia reporting published on October 23, 2026.
The digital services company, controlled by billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries, received demand exceeding 22 times the number of shares available to public investors. The strong response reflects investor interest in India’s expanding digital economy and one of the country’s largest telecommunications businesses.
Jio Platforms operates the technology and digital services business behind Reliance Jio, whose mobile network serves more than 500 million users across India. Its services include mobile connectivity, internet access and digital platforms used by consumers and businesses.
The proposed IPO values Jio Platforms at up to $108.3 billion, potentially making it one of India’s largest publicly listed companies by market capitalisation. The company is led by Akash Ambani, Mukesh Ambani’s eldest son, who has taken a prominent role in the group’s telecommunications operations.
Demand for the offering came from a broad range of investors, including institutional funds, retail investors, employees and existing shareholders. Dikkasmedia reported that the IPO received more than 13.8 million applications, setting a new record for an Indian share offering.
Major international investors have also shown interest. Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, BlackRock and Fidelity were among anchor investors that submitted bids totalling approximately $25.6 billion for shares reserved for them.
Jio Platforms also counts technology companies Meta and Google among its longstanding investors, highlighting its connections with some of the world’s largest digital businesses.
The offering comes at a time when investors are reassessing valuations across the technology sector, particularly companies associated with artificial intelligence and large-scale digital infrastructure spending. Jio’s performance after listing could therefore provide an indication of investor appetite for major technology-related offerings in the current market.
The shares were scheduled to begin trading on Wednesday following the offering. The longer-term outlook will depend on Jio’s ability to maintain subscriber growth, expand its digital services and generate sustainable revenue.
